Sex & Candy – Oksana Pochepa

By Rollo Tomasi

Youthful looks – even at 24 Oksana Pochepa has the look of a ‘Lolita’
Who’s that casting devious stares purportedly in Mel Gibson’s direction? “More than just a random, 24-year old Russian woman” as double cherry pie Oksana Pochepa describes herself to international press. Born July 20, 1984 in Rostov-on-Don, Oksana, is a rising Russian pop diva, sex kitten and heir to Vladimir Nabakov’s ‘Lolita’ archetype all rolled into one diminutive, irresistible package. Recently at the center of Gibson’s triangle of alleged Russian girlfriends (all named Oksana) Pochepa is possibly, at a glance, every man’s indulgence.

Oksana Pochepa feels most at home on stage
To their credit, a number of Russian women are endowed with a lasting, uncannily youthful look. It’s with this blessing of ageless, tempting beauty that Oksana Pochepa comes to us.

And indeed she coyly plucks Nabokov’s controversial chicken to the last feather, maximizing her provocative good looks in music video’s like ‘Poljubi’ (’Come Love’) where as a schoolgirl she puts the move on her hot and bothered professor, or as a promiscuous, suicidal lover in ‘Uletaju’ (‘Fly Away’).

Oksana Pochepa burst onto the Russian music scene in 1997 at the ripe age of 13 performing in a band appropriately called Maloletka (Jailbait, Underaged). She hit the Russian music charts under the pseudonym of Akula (Shark), and in 2001 released her first solo album – Kislotniy DJ (Acidic DJ).

Then in August of 2007, the petite singer and model met Mel Gibson when she was reportedly retained to compose a song for his upcoming film Edge of Darkness. Taking all reports of an ensuing romance with several grains of salt, we wish her and Mel the best, either as a couple or solo.

But the talk of romance with Mel Gibson does not seem to have distracted the highly professional Oksana from her intriguing career. This year she’s been working on several projects including a song called ‘Seks’ (’Sex’) with musician Ivan Demyan, a co-writer of Tatu’s hit ‘Chto Ne Hvataet’.
